about cityshob

CityShob stands as a leading provider of intelligent smart city solutions, including a diverse array of applications, advanced data analytics, license plate recognition software, and other professional services. Their commitment lies in providing decision-making tools to enhance urban operational efficiency.

The company specializes in delivering a suite of data systems designed for the operational management of city assets. It specializes in IoT data management, Big Data analytics, and advanced analytics. CityShob interconnects millions of data sources to establish a unified platform that manages city assets, critical infrastructure, and corporate entities.

The platform is characterized by its multi-domain, multi-agency, multi-sensor architecture, underpinned by IoT analytics. They achieved this by aggregating IoT data from municipal assets and citizens, conducting real-time data analytics and visualization to proactively predict, alert, and manage the overall city operations.

the need

With the increasing complexity of managing diverse city assets and a growing demand for advanced analytics, CityShob recognized the need to evolve its IoT analytics platform. The challenges were:

  • Incorporating new functionalities to meet emerging demands;
  • Optimizing the platform efficiency for seamless city-wide asset management;
  • Addressing existing technical debt accrued over previous development cycles.

The platform was developed a long time ago, so they also needed new technology enhancements and platform upgrades and refactoring. This is why CityShob started looking for smart city companies having experience with IoT development, custom API integrations, as well as a list of case studies in software outsourcing industry.

the solution

Milies partnered with CityShob by providing a team of seasoned software developers who have had experience working on IoT development, smart city solutions, as well as license plate recognition (LPR) system development. To provide a seamless and intuitive experience, our software team joined forces with CityShob to create a system for city asset management, working on both new functionality development, as well as conducting the maintenance and support of the current functionalities.

The Milies team assessed existing technical debt accumulated over previous development cycles. To ensure a clean and maintainable codebase, we took part in refactoring and rewriting some parts of the smart city platform. This proactive approach improved the overall reliability of the smart mobility solutions and set the stage for more streamlined future development.

We have introduced new features to improve LPR solution, data management, Big Data analytics, and advanced analytics capabilities, such as real-time monitoring and better visualization tools.

Our partnership is still ongoing with new challenging tasks and innovative solutions. So far, we have worked on:

  • Integration of almost limitless amounts of data from multiple sources, including sensory subsystems, visual and mobile data, GIS maps, social media, connected devices (IoT), open sources and more, into one, comprehensive solution;
  • Integration to SAFR, a highly accurate, machine learning facial recognition platform;
  • Enhancement of the existing detection-rule-event engine based on LPR detection integration;
  • Implementation of real-time emergency response protocols and systems;
  • Algorithms to identify and secure critical assets using advanced sensors;
  • Integration of complex security algorithms for the efficient management of diverse security scenarios;
  • Traffic monitoring solutions and algorithms for optimized traffic flow and incident response;
  • Crowd monitoring algorithms and systems for efficient crowd control;
  • Instant alert systems and AI-driven recommendations based on threat assessments;
  • Suspect monitoring systems utilizing facial recognition and behavior analysis;
  • Social media monitoring tools to extract and analyze relevant security-related information;
  • Operational dashboards for real-time monitoring and decision support;
  • Collaboration platforms and APIs for seamless information exchange among multiple agencies;
  • API integrations for public notifications and information dissemination;
  • Design and integration of adaptive lighting control systems for energy-efficient smart street lighting;
  • Development of algorithms and systems for smart parking space optimization and management;
  • Waste management solutions with sensor-based monitoring and optimization;
  • Real-time monitoring systems for public transportation with route optimization features;
  • Data visualization tools and libraries for presenting complex security data;
  • Analytics dashboards with interactive features for in-depth data analysis;
  • Smart urban management solutions for cities and authorities;
  • Decision support tools for event management;
  • Analytics tool for vehicle tracking, people tracing, face detection and recognition, queue monitoring, unattended baggage, loitering and more;
  • Auto detect and alert on incidents captured by cameras.

Milies team also worked on the C-Share mobile app development project, which is an application that enables citizens to report “SOS” alerts direct to emergency and municipality agencies via their smartphone and municipalities to communicate emergency information with citizens:

  • “SOS” alerts reporting to emergency and municipality agencies;
  • Encrypted communication system development – Text, Picture, Video and Voice.

Another project we participated in is the C-React app development, which is for:

  • Responding faster and smarter to incidents;
  • Sharing information with other departments and agencies for better cooperation, coordination and collaboration;
  • Gaining accurate situational awareness;
  • Being more prepared before arriving at the crime scene;
  • Spending more time on patrol without having to return to the station;
  • Tracking location of responders, as with AVLS.

Through the strategic integration of big data analytics, advanced technology, and Internet of Things (IoT) connected devices, we have developed comprehensive solutions tailored to address several pivotal tasks for urban environments.

In summary, our collaborative development efforts led to a platform that empowers cities to harness the power of IoT analytics for improved decision-making and operational efficiency while ensuring a solid foundation for future innovations.
